Explanation
To authorize Shamrock Towing, Inc. to patrol specified parks and remove vehicles left unattended in the park after the park has closed or any vehicle not parked in a designated parking spot as per park signage. Shamrock Towing, Inc. will provide and install appropriate signage within specified parks, as authorized by the Director.

Qualifications were reviewed from 4 towing companies in the Columbus, Ohio area. Each of the 4 towing companies were interviewed. Shamrock Towing, Inc., 1145 Hamlet Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43201, was selected for this project for various reasons including experience, location, availability, and familiarity and expertise with towing vehicles in the City of Columbus. The contract will be awarded to Shamrock Towing.

Body
WHEREAS, proposals for towing services were received and evaluated by the Recreation and Parks Department for towing enforcement of parking rules within specified parks, as authorized by the Director; and

WHEREAS, the contract will be awarded to Shamrock Towing with no cost to the City; and

NOW, THEREFORE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS

Section 1. That the Director of Recreation and Parks be and is hereby authorized to enter into a 2 year agreement with Shamrock Towing, Inc to commence on August 1, 2011.

Section 2. That Shamrock Towing is authorized to place tow away zone signs within designated parks with language approved by The City of Columbus, Recreation and Parks Department.

Section 3. That the Director of Recreation and Parks is authorized to enforce park rules regarding parking and unattended vehicles...
