Explanation
Ordinance 0099-2013 authorized the acceptance of the 2013 VAWA Stalking Investigator Grant #2012-WF-VA6-V520 from the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, Office of Homeland Security and Justice Programs; the appropriation of the grant funds; and the transfer and appropriation of matching funds.
This ordinance will authorize the City Attorney to enter into a contract with Secure Investigative Solutions LLC for the services of a stalking investigator who will assist victims and fill a liaison role with police departments within Franklin County, sharing information and maintaining data collection on stalking suspects. This ordinance will further authorize the expenditure of funds for services rendered under the contract and waive competitive procurement provisions.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this contract will come from the Stalking Investigator Grant funds.
Emergency Designation:
This ordinance is being submitted as an emergency so that grant services can commence as soon as possible.

To authorize the City Attorney to enter into a contract with Secure Investigative Solutions LLC for the services of a stalking investigator for the City Attorney's Office; to authorize the appropriation of matching general funds in the amount of Fourteen Thousand Six Hundred Sixty-seven Dollars; to authorize the expenditure of an amount not to exceed Fifty-eight Thousand Six Hundred Sixty-seven Dollars for services rendered pursuant thereto; to waive the competitive procurement provisions of the Columbus City Codes; and to declare an emergency.
