Explanation
This ordinance amends thePolice Management Compensation Plan, Ordinance 2715-2013, as amended, by amending several portions of the Police Management Compensation Plan in order to update or modify language; to add Peace Officers Memorial Day to the holidays section; and to update tuition reimbursement rules and benefits.

Emergency action is recommended in order to begin implementation.

To amend the Police Management Compensation Plan, Ordinance 2715-2013, as amended, by amending several portions of the Police Management Compensation Plan in order to update or modify language; to modify or clarify certain benefits; and to declare an emergency.


Body
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Police Management Compensation Plan by adding the definition of COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Recovery Act) to Section 3; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Police Management Compensation Plan by amending Section 4(B) to remove outdated language and to add new language regarding the employee pension fund contribution; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Police Management Compensation Plan by amending Section 9(A) to add Peace Officers Memorial Day, May 15, to the list of observed holidays; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Police Management Compensation Plan by amending Section 11(F) to remove the effective date from paid parental leave; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Police Management Compensation Plan by amending Section 11(G) to remove the effective date from paid caregiver leave; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Police Management Compensation Plan by amending Section 16(A) to modify and update a portion of the tuition reimbursement program; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Human Resources in that it is immediately necessary to amend certain provisions of the Police Management Compensation Plan in order to allow for immediate implementation thereby prese...
