Explanation

Columbus Public Health has been awarded a grant from the Ohio Department of Health originating from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to fund the COVID-19 Vaccine Grant Program for the period of January 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023. The grant funds awarded provide for a contract with COHEAR for $320,000.00 to drive innovative and effective efforts to pursue equity in vaccine uptake and health outcomes in vulnerable communities in Franklin County. This vendor was included in the grant application and approved for use by the Ohio Department of Health.

Emergency action is requested in order to avoid any delays in providing program services.

FISCAL IMPACT: The COVID-19 Vaccine Grant Program is entirely funded by the Ohio Department of Health. This program does not generate any revenue or require a City Match.

WHEREAS, the Ohio Department of Health has designated the Columbus Health Department as a grantee agency and fund administrator for the COVID-19 Vaccine Grant Program; and,

WHEREAS, COHEAR will provide various services to meet all grant deliverables required by the Ohio Department of Health; and,

WHEREAS, this vendor was included in the grant application and approved for use by the Ohio Department of Health; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Health Department in that it is immediately necessary to enter into this contract for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare and to avoid any delays in providing program services to meet grant deliverables; Now, there...
