To honor, recognize, and celebrate Paul R. Rakosky for his 27 32 years of public service and 20 28 years of service to the City of Columbus.

 

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, this Council honors and recognizes Paul R. Rakosky for his outstanding service to the City of Columbus by giving his talents, energy, and time toward the betterment of our community through his dedicated service to the City of Columbus; and,

WHEREAS, Paul served in leadership roles with the City’s Recreation and Parks Department and Department of Finance and Management, where he provided leadership and guidance to large, complex departments; and,

WHEREAS, Paul led the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department as interim director during the pandemic, during which his steadfast leadership and commitment to staff and the community helped the City quickly and safely resume critical services at a time when residents most needed support and found other resources were not available; and,

WHEREAS, Paul served as the Mayor’s appointee to special committees to advance the Mayor’s efforts to improve the quality of life for residents, including the Columbus City Schools nominating committee for district treasurer and the City nominating committee for fire chief, as well as served as treasurer and member of the Reeb Avenue Center board; and,

WHEREAS, Paul has used his proven track record in planning, developing, and implementing strategies for financial management, analysis, improving organizational efficiency, and effectiveness to ensure the City is a strong steward of the resources entrusted to the City by residents; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: that we honor and recognize Paul R. Rakosky for his contributions to the City of Columbus and the residents of our community.
