BACKGROUND: Columbus Public Health has been awarded a grant from the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO). This ordinance is needed to accept and appropriate $15,000.00 in grant monies to fund the Association of State and Federal Health Officials (ASTHO) Grant Program for the period of March 15, 2022 through July 31, 2022.

Columbus Public Health agrees to provide the staffing, and services to enhance the programmatic activities of ASTHO Grant# 61-FE-1705-07-00, CFDA#93.011 as described on the attached.

This ordinance is submitted as an emergency to not delay program activities and attend required meetings, and to allow the financial transactions to be posted in the City’s accounting system as soon as possible given the grant start date of March 15, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT: The NACCHO Grant Program is entirely funded by the ASTHO Grant. This program does not generate any revenue or require a City match.

WHEREAS, $15,000.00 in grant funds have been made available through the National Association of County and City Health Officials for the ASTHO Grant Program for the period of March 15, 2022 through July 31, 2022; and,

WHEREAS, it is necessary to accept and appropriate these funds from the National Association of County and City Health Officials for the continued support of the Grant program; and,

WHEREAS, the City may receive additional funds awarded from the National Association of County and City Health Officials for the support of the ASTHO Grant Program; and
