[WHEREAS, Joe Walsh is a true son of Columbus, where he picked up his first guitar and began his musical journey; and
WHEREAS, Joe Walsh entertained audiences for five decades and continues to tour internationally; and
WHEREAS, Joe Walsh sold millions of records as a member of the Eagles, the James Gang and as a solo artist, he is an inductee to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS, Joe Walsh has received five Grammy Awards, he received honoree doctorates of music from Berklee College of Music and Kent State University; and
WHEREAS, Joe Walsh is a Gold star son, his father giving his life in service of our country; and
WHEREAS, Joe Walsh is one of the world’s most respected guitarists, he is a supporter of many charitable causes, with lifelong commitment to recovery from addiction, the environment and veterans services ; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council recognizes celebrates and honors Joe Walsh an iconic guitarist, singer and song writer.
