The City of Columbus will hold a public hearing regarding the City’s 2025-2029 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Consolidated Plan and 2025 HUD Annual Action Plan planning processes. The Consolidated Plan and associated Annual Action Plans set goals and define priorities for housing and community development investment in Columbus. The Consolidated Plan governs the City’s investment of four federal grants: the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program, the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Program, and the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG).
These grant funds are intended to primarily support low-to-moderate income residents of Columbus. The Draft 2025 Annual Action Plan (AAP) outlines goals and projects for these four HUD grants. The City is seeking input on the Draft 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan and Draft 2025 Annual Action Plan. The drafts of both plans will be available for public review and comment through November 20, 2024, on the Grants Management Section webpage at: www.columbus.gov/grants-management.
Councilmember Nick Bankston, in conjunction with the Department of Finance and Management, will hold a Finance Committee Hearing at 5:00 PM on November 19, 2024. The Hearing will be held in Council Chambers at City Hall at 90 W. Broad Street. Any individual, group, or agency wishing to provide input on the Draft Consolidated Plan or Draft 2025 AAP may submit comments to the City of Columbus at grantsmgmt@columbus.gov. All comments received by November 20, 2024, will be considered by the City prior to the City’s submission of the Draft Consolidated Plan and Draft 2025 AAP to HUD.
