INTRODUCTION
[Co-Chair Barroso de Padilla] Good afternoon everyone. Thank you for joining us this evening for the Service and Infrastructure Budget Hearing. During this hearing we will review and comment on the Mayor’s proposed 2025 operating budget as it relates to service and infrastructure, and will feature our departments of Public Service and Public Utilities. Today’s hearing will be chaired jointly by myself and Councilmember Wyche. We are also joined by Councilmembers Day-Achauer, Vice Chair of Public Service and Transportation, as well as Councilmember Remy, Vice Chair of Public Utilities and Sustainability. We have talked about investment into human infrastructure and how do we make the correct choices when investing in people infrastructure and physical infrastructure. People need sidewalks, roads etc to get to work, school, medical appointments etc. Tonight we will discuss how we make intentional those investments.
