Explanation
Background: Section 20.2 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Communications Workers of America, (CWA) Local 4502 and the City of Columbus, April 24, 2023 through April 23, 2026, requires that any modifications to the Agreement be agreed to by the parties. The parties have executed Memorandum of Understanding #2026-01 to amend Appendix B (classification listing) by creating the Watershed Operations Manager and the Watershed Maintenance Supervisor within Columbus Water & Power and assigning the Pay Grades as follows:
Watershed Operations Manager (Job Code 1876): Pay Grade 58
Watershed Maintenance Supervisor (Job Code 1870): Pay Grade 56
The Watershed Operations Manager classification shall be overtime exempt for FLSA purposes (E Class).
The Watershed Maintenance Supervisor classification shall be overtime eligible for FLSA purposes (D Class).
The passage of this ordinance indicates City Council’s approval of Memorandum of Understanding #2026-01, a copy of which is attached hereto.
Emergency Designation: Emergency action is recommended in order to allow for expedient implementation to immediately create and assign pay to these classifications.
Fiscal Impact: None.
