The Columbus LGBTQ+ Affairs Commission hosted a listening session on Thursday, Sept. 24th at the Fran Ryan Center from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Commission discussed the following topics:
1. A desire for more social events endorsed or advertised by the Commission;
2. More information about what peer commissions in other cities do;
3. Room for intervention on the topic of LGBTQ+ housing, particularly for seniors but also across generations;
4. A need for more social media engagement from the Commission;
5. A desire for greater understanding about the City's existing regulatory and services/programming landscape so the Commission can better educate the public and understand how to intervene; and
6. More coordination with suburban partners.
