To recognize and celebrate Tim Tucker as the 2026 Recipient of the Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio’s Pro Bono Impact Award

WHEREAS, Tim Tucker is the 2026 recipient of the Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio’s Pro Bono Impact Award; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tucker is a known problem-solver, from his career as an electrical engineer, repairing old bicycles at repair cafes, and helping high-school students and families complete applications for financial aid. His time at I Know I Can where he aided families with tax returns led him to work with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program to provide free basic income tax return preparation; and
WHEREAS, Serving as a non-attorney volunteer, Mr. Tucker has been vital to LASCO’s tax team due to his expertise and countless volunteer hours provided. Mr. Tucker has advocated for individuals facing financial, legal, and bureaucratic hurdles during his time volunteering with Legal Aid; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tucker’s work has given him insight into solving problems for clients, reflecting his problem-solving ability; and
WHEREAS, Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio, is committed to searching out the patterns, causes of, and solutions to the repetitive and fundamental legal problems facing low-income Ohioans and pursuing the legal recourse needed to address those problems; and
WHEREAS, Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio is comprised of advocates who are passionate about providing legal services to low-income individuals, and it is an honor and a privilege to work with an organization that is committed to making the daily lives of Columbus residents better - a fact exemplified by the service of people such as Tim Tucker; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council recognizes and celebrates Tim Tucker as the 2026 Recipient of the Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio’s Pro Bono Impact Award.
