Explanation

BACKGROUND:  This resolution authorizes plans and specifications to be prepared for a high pressure sodium street lighting system under the assessment procedure.  Property owners have submitted a petition for a high pressure sodium street lighting system with ornamental poles and underground wiring in the Maize Morse Area including:  Emslie Drive from Fordham Road to Loring Road, Sandy Lane Drive from Meadowview Drive to Loring Road, Garden Road from Maize Road to and including parcel numbers 010-120102 and 010-120237, Wetmore Road from Wetmore Road East to and including parcel numbers 010-120061and 010-120090, Fordham Road, Marland Drive North, Marland Drive South, Marland Drive, Okell Road, Wanda Lane Road, Wetmore Road East, Inwood Place, Meadowview Court, Meadowview Drive, Poling Court, Poling Drive, and Hillsdale Drive.  This petition has been submitted to Columbus City Council through the City Clerk's Office.

Title

Body

WHEREAS, property owners owning over 60% of the assessable property in the Maize Morse Area including:  Emslie Drive from Fordham Road to Loring Road, Sandy Lane Drive from Meadowview Drive to Loring Road, Garden Road from Maize Road to and including parcel numbers 010-120102 and 010-120237, Wetmore Road from Wetmore Road East to and including parcel numbers 010-120061 and 010-120090, Fordham Road, Marland Drive North, Marland Drive South, Marland Drive, Okell Road, Wanda Lane Road, Wetmore Road East, Inwood Place, Meadowview Court, Meadowview Drive, Poling Court, Poling Drive, and Hillsdale Drive have submitted a petition for ornamental street lighting with underground wiring; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

SECTION 1.  That the Director of Public Utilities be and is hereby authorized to cause plans, specifications and estimate of cost to be prepared for a high pressure sodium street lighting system with ornamental poles and underground wiring in the Maize Morse Area including:  Emslie Drive from Fordham Road to Loring Road, Sandy Lane Drive from Meadowview Drive to Loring Road, Garden Road from Maize Road to and including parcel numbers 010-120102 and 010-120237, Wetmore Road from Wetmore Road East to and including parcel numbers 010-120061 and 010-120090, Fordham Road, Marland Drive North, Marland Drive South, Marland Drive, Okell Road, Wanda Lane Road, Wetmore Road East, Inwood Place, Meadowview Court, Meadowview Drive, Poling Court, Poling Drive, and Hillsdale Drive.

SECTION 2.  That this resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
