Explanation

BACKGROUND:  This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to modify the current Abuse Intervention programs contract with the Franklin County Mental Health (ADAMH) Board in order to continue the provision of services for an additional 12 months. The total amount of this modification is $258,149.00.

This ordinance represents a program to be funded following the Department of Development's competitive procurement process. The legislation targets a social service agency that will provide help to families and households through access to counseling and treatment services.  In addition, the city supports programs and activities so that the greater population is assured access to information, technical and other community assistance. This funding will allow the process to continue.

FISCAL IMPACT: $258,148 has been allocated from the General Fund for this purpose. In 2006, a total of $3,303,292.00 has been allocated to fund social service programs through the General Fund.

Title

Body

WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Development desires to modify the current Abuse Intervention programs contract with ADAMH in order to continue the provision of services for an additional 12 months; and

WHEREAS, this ordinance represents a program to be funded following the Department of Development's competitive procurement process; and

WHEREAS, the legislation targets a social service agency that will provide help to families and households through access to counseling and treatment services; and

WHEREAS, in addition, the city supports programs and activities so that the greater population is assured access to information, technical and other community assistance; and NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

Section 1.      That the Director of the Department of Development be and is hereby authorized to

modify contract DL010856 with the Franklin County Mental Health (ADAMH)

Board by extending the contract period through January 31, 2007 and by increasing

the contract amount by $258,149.

Section 2.      That these modifications are made pursuant to Section 329.16 of the Columbus City

Codes, 1959, as amended.

Section 3.       That for the purpose as stated in Section 1, the expenditure of $258,149.00 much thereof as may be necessary, be and is hereby authorized to be expended from the General Fund, Department of Development, Department No. 44-05, Fund 010, Object Level One 03, Object Level Three 3337, OCA Code 440280.

Section 4.      That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period

allowed by law.
