Explanation

The purpose of this ordinance is to authorize the City Auditor to assign all past, present and future business conducted by the Department of Public Utilities, Division of Sewerage and Drainage under contract numbers EL-004049 and EL-004784 with Jim Skaggs dba Cornerstone Services (31-1410535) to Cornerstone Maintenance Services Ltd (01-0852059). Cornerstone Maintnance Services Ltd. provides HVAC services to various facilities within the Division of Sewerage and Drainage.

Cornerstone Services went through structural changes in late 2005 and effective January 1, 2006 changed their name and federal identification number. The new name and federal identification number are Cornerstone Maintenance Services Ltd (01-0852059)

FISCAL IMPACT: No funds are required for this legislation

In order to maintain an uninterrupted supply chain to the City of Columbus and invoice payments, this ordinance is being submitted as an emergency.

To authorize the City Auditor to assign all past, present and future contracts and obligations with Jim Skaggs dba Cornerstone Services to Cornerstone Maintenance Services Ltd, and to declare and emergency. ($0)

Body

WHEREAS, Cornerstone Services went through structure changes in late 2005, and

WHEREAS, effective January 1, 2006 the company changed its name and federal identification number to Cornerstone Maintenance Services Ltd. 01-0852059, and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Utilities in that it is immediately necessary to assign all past, present and future contracts and payment obligations for EL-004049 and EL-004784 from Jim Skaggs dba Cornerstone Services to Cornerstone Maintenance Services Ltd., thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare now, therefore,

BE IT ORDAIINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

Section 1. That the City Auditor be and is hereby authorized to assign all past, present and future contracts and obligations for EL-004049 and EL-004784 from Jim Skaggs dba Cornerstone Services (31-1410535) to Cornerstone Maintenance Services Inc. (01-0852059).

Section 2. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, where is hereby made a part hereof, this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, which shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
