Explanation
Background:
This ordinance will enable the Director of Finance and Mangement to purchase one (1) cab and chassis truck with forestry chipper body and aerial personnel lift from Dueco, Inc., in accordance with the terms and conditions of formal bid SA001713 GRW. This truck is equipment replacement for use in daily operations by the Forestry Section of the Recreation and Parks Department.
The Contract Compliance Number for Dueco, Inc., is #39-1482105.
Emergency action is required to have equipment available for spring 2006.
Fiscal Impact:
$123,766.00 is required and budgeted from the Voted 1999/2004 Parks and Recreation Bond Fund to meet the financial obligation of this purchase order.

To authorize and direct the Director of Finance and Management to purchase one (1) cab and chassis truck with forestry chipper body and aerial personnel lift from Dueco, Inc., for the Recreation and Parks Department, in accordance with the terms and conditions of formal bid SA001713 GRW, and to authorize the expenditure of $123,766.00 from the Voted 1999/2004 Parks and Recreation Bond Fun, and to declare an emergency. Body
WHEREAS, bids were received in accordance with the terms and conditions of formal bid SA001713 GRW; and
WHEREAS, as emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to purchase said equipment to have it available for spring 2006; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Director of Finance and Management be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a purchase order with Dueco, Inc. for the purchase of one (1) cab and chassis truck and forestry chipper body and aerial personnel lift for the Foresty Section of the Recreation and Parks Department, in accordance with the terms and conditions of formal bid SA001713 GRW.
SECTION 2. That the expenditure of $123,766.00, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and is hereby authorized from the Voted 1999/2004 Parks and Recreation Bond Fund No. 702, as follows, to pay the cost thereof.

SECTION 3. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
