Body
Council President Hardin and Council President Pro Tem Rob Dorans, chair of the Zoning Committee, will hold a public hearing on Monday - April 14 at 5:30pm regarding the Zone In Phase One Update 161 Corridor / Northland.
This Update deals with portions the SR-161 corridor which did not initially appear to fit the guidelines for the new districts due to the absence of sidewalks, existing conditions, and the lack of a recommendation for mixed-use development in the previously adopted Northland I Area Plan (2014). It
includes parcels along or adjacent to SR-161 between the Worthington City limits to the west and Ponderosa Drive to the east.
Engagement with the Northland community began in late 2024, with presentations to the Northland Community Council (NCC), the NCC Zone In Subcommittee, the Northland Business Association, and the 161 Task Force. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with letters of support from each of these organizations. Community engagement will continue throughout the 60-day public comment period, during which the proposal may be refined based on additional feedback.
