Explanation
Background: Since June 2002, the City has leased 851 square feet of office space located at 310 Innis Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43207 from the South Side Settlement Foundation for its South Side Pride Center. The City of Columbus entered into the current lease agreement with South Side Settlement Foundation as authorized by Ordinance #0764-2008, passed by the Columbus City Council on 06/03/2008. The lease included an initial term of one (1) year and four (4) automatic one (1) year renewal terms with each renewal term subject to appropriation of rental funds by City Council. Ordinance #0173-2011, passed by City Council on March 2, 2011, appropriated rental funds within the Special Income Tax Fund, in the amount of $9,119.04 , for the third of the four (4) automatic renewal terms.
This legislation authorizes the Director of Finance and Management to expend $9,119.04 for the payment of rent for for the third of four (4) automatic one (1) year renewals for the period June 1, 2011 to May 31, 2012.

WHEREAS, the City, leases 851 square feet of office space located at 310 Innis Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43207 from South Side Settlement Foundation for its South Side Pride Center; and
WHEREAS, the City appropriated rental funds in the amount of $9,119.04 within the Special Icome Tax Fund pursuant to Ordinance #0173-2011; and
WHEREAS, it is now necessary to authorize the expenditure of rental funds; NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That the Director of Finance and Management be, and hereby is, authorized to expend $9,119.04 for payment of rent for the renewal term for the period June 1, 2011 to May 31, 2012 for the lease with South Side Settlement Foundation at 310 Innis Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43207.
Section 2. That the expenditure of $9,119.04 from the Special Income Tax Fund, be and is hereby authorized and approved as follows:

Section 3. That the City Auditor is authorized to make any accounting changes necessary to ensure that this contract is properly accounted for and recorded accurately on the City's financial records. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
