Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Building & Zoning Services to modify Contract EL010461 with Zucker Systems by extending the contract period for an additional Six (6) months. The new ending date will be March 31, 2011, thus making the new Time of Agreement April 1, 2008 through March 31, 2011. This contract is funded through the Development Services Special Revenue Fund and the Public Utilities Enterprise Operating Funds. This contract supports the creation and establishment of the new Department of Building & Zoning Services.
This extension is to provide time to perform analysis and submittal of final reports and/or recommendations on the creation of the new Department of Building & Zoning Services.
FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funds will be allocated for this contract modification.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF CITY OF COLUMBUS:
WHEREAS, this legislation authorizes the Director of Building & Zoning Services to modify Contract No. EL007972 with Zucker Systems by extending the contract an additional six (6) months; and
WHEREAS, the original ending date was September 30, 2010, this extension will provide for a new ending date of March 31, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the new time of Agreement will be April 1, 2008 through March 31, 2011; and
WHEREAS, this contract supports the continued performance of analysis and submittal of final reports and recommendations on the creation of the new Department of Building & Zoning Services; and
WHEREAS, no additional funds will be allocated for this contract modification; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the new Department of Building & Zoning Services in that it is necessary to modify Contract No. EL007972 with Zucker Systems to avoid interruption of services to the original contract with an end date of September 30, 2010; NOW THEREFORE
Section 1. That the Director of Department of Building & Zoning Services be and is authorized to modify Contract No. EL007972 by extending the contract period to March 31, 2011.
Section 2. That this contract modification is made pursuant to Section 329.16 of the Columbus City Code
Section 3. That for the reasons stated in the preamble here to, which is hereby made part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten (10) days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
