To honor and recognize Dress for Success Columbus and the "Success Organics" Project.

WHEREAS, Dress For Success Columbus is a non-profit professional women's organization established in 2007 with a mission of promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and career development tools free of charge to help Central Ohio women thrive in work and life; and
WHEREAS, since its inception, Dress For Success Columbus has served over 2,000 women in Franklin and surrounding counties and is the local affiliate of Dress For Success Worldwide which has served more than 550,000 women internationally; and
WHEREAS, in an effort to help women enhance their quality of life through improved health and income, Dress For Success Columbus developed "Success Organics", an entrepreneurial, holistic health program which includes demonstration organic community gardens, nutrition education, and economic development; and
WHEREAS, through "Success Organics", omen will have the opportunity to save money, increase their salary and give back to the community by growing their own organic food in local community gardens throughout Columbus; and
WHEREAS, women will be permitted to keep one-third of the produce grown, one-third will be sold at a local farmers market, and one-third will be donated to a local food pantry; and
WHEREAS, Dress for Success is dedicated to improving the lives of women in 110 cities across the U.S., Australia, Canada, the U.K., Poland, the Netherlands, the West Indies and New Zealand. The professional clothing, employment retention programs and ongoing support provided increases every woman's ability to be self-sufficient and successful in her career; now, therefore

That we do hereby honor and recognize Dress For Success Columbus and the "Success Organics" project and thank them for their service and dedication to the City of Columbus and Franklin County.
