Explanation
This ordinance authorizes the Director of the Department of Finance and Management, on behalf of the Department of Technology, to associate all General Budget Reservations resulting from this ordinance with a pre-established Universal Term Contract/Purchase Agreement (UTC/PA) with CDW Government, LLC for NetApp Maintenance and Support.
NetApp is used by various city departments for the storage, back-up and recovery of mission critical data. This maintenance is necessary to stay current on security patches and replace failed hardware.
This ordinance authorizes the expenditure of $75,822.16 from the Department of Technology, Information Services Operating Fund. It is expected that the Department of Technology will spend more than $100,000.00 on services under this UTC in this fiscal year.

Emergency designation is being requested for these services that are necessary to support daily operation activities, to ensure no service interruption, and to establish a purchase order at the earliest possible date.

Body
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Department of Technology, has a need for the software and maintenance support of NetApp for the storage, back-up and recovery of mission critical data, and such services are available under the UTC with CDW Government, LLC for Video Storage; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize the expenditure of up to $75,822.16 for the purchase of NetApp maintenance and support for the contract period of June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance authorizes the Director of the Department of Finance and Management, on behalf of the Department of Technology, to associate all General Budget Reservations resulting from this ordinance with a pre-established Universal Term Contract/Purchase Agreement with CDW Government, LLC for Video Storage; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the daily operation of the Department of Technology in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Director of the Department of Finance and Management, on behalf of the Department of Technology, to associate all General Budget Reservations resulting from this ordinance with a pre-established Universal Term Contract/Purchase Agreement with CDW Government, LLC for Video Storage, to ensure no service interruption, for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property and safety; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Finance and Management Director, on behalf of the Department of Technology, is authorized to associate all General Budget Reservations resulting from this ordinance with a pre-established Universal Term Contract/Purchase Agreement with CDW Government, LLC for Video Storage.
SECTION 2. That the expenditure of $75,822.16 is authorized by the Department of Technology, Information Services Operating Fund, for the above-mentioned purpose, as shown in the attachment to this ordinance. (see 0995-2026EXP)
SECTION 3. That the City Auditor is authorized to make any changes to revise the funding source for any contract or contract modifications associated with this ordinance.
SECTION 4. That the funds necessary to carry out the purpose of this ordinance are hereby deemed appropriated, and the City Auditor shall establish such accounting codes as necessary.
SECTION 5. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
