Explanation

 

This legislation amends Ordinance 1120-2025, which was approved by Columbus City Council on June 9, 2025. ORD 1120-2025 authorized the Director of the Department of Public Utilities to enter into a contract, in accordance with sole-source provisions of City Code, with GE Digital LLC for the maintenance of GE Advantage (aka Global Care) software licenses and maintenance support for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage. Since the legislation was drafted GE Digital LLC is undergoing a company reorganization and will be going forward with the name GE Vernova Electrification Software Holdings LLC. As such the supplier portions of the original legislation will need to be amended to reflect this change

FISCAL IMPACT:  Auditor’s Certificate #ACPO011941 from Ordinance 1120-2025 will be utilized to establish the Purchase Order after this Ordinance has passed.  No additional funds are requested at this time.

Body

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance 1120-2025 authorized the Director of the Department of Public Utilities to enter into a contract, in accordance with sole-source provisions of City Code, with GE Digital LLC for the maintenance of GE Advantage (aka Global Care) software licenses and maintenance support for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage.; and

 

WHEREAS, after passage of Ordinance 1120-2025 GE Digital LLC underwent a company reorganization and will be going forward with the name GE Vernova Electrification Software Holdings LLC; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Utilities requests that Ordinance 1120-2025 be amended in order to correct the company name, and vendor number in all parts of the ordinance so the Director of Public Utilities may proceed with entering into contract; and

 

WHEREAS, Auditor’s Certificate #ACPO011941 from Ordinance 1120-2025 will be utilized to establish the new contract after this Ordinance has passed.  No additional funding is necessary or required with this ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

SECTION 1.  That Ordinance 1120-2025 be and hereby is amended and repealed as follows, with additions in underlined in bold and deletions in strikethrough. SEE ATTACHMENT.

 

SECTION 2. That except as provided herein, all provisions of Ordinance 1120-2025 shall remain in full force and effect; it is the intent of City Council that Ordinance 1120-2025 and this ordinance shall be construed together as a single instrument, as appropriate.

 

SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
