Explanation

 

BACKGROUND:  This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to establish a Universal Term Contract (UTC) for the option to purchase Versalift OEM Parts and Services with Utility Truck & Equipment, Inc.  The Division of Fleet Management is the primary user for Utility Truck & Equipment, Inc.  Versalift OEM Parts and Services are used to repair and maintain City bucket trucks and aerial lifts.  Utility Truck & Equipment Company, Inc. is the sole source for these parts and services as they are the only local distributor and authorized service provider for this specific manufacturer.  Pricing was obtained by published price list.  The term of the proposed option contract would be approximately two (2) years, expiring October 31, 2027, with the option to renew for one (1) additional year.  In addition, the expenditure of $1.00 is hereby authorized from General Budget Reservation BRPO003264.

 

Utility Truck & Equipment, Inc., CC# 004562 expires 4/16/2027, $1.00

Total Estimated Annual Expenditure: $75,000, Division of Fleet Management, the primary user

 

The company is not debarred according to the Excluded Party Listing System of the Federal Government or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State Unresolved Findings for Recovery Certified Search.  

 

FISCAL IMPACT:  The expenditure of $1.00 is hereby authorized from General Budget Reservation BRPO003264.

($1.00)

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, the Versalift OEM Parts and Services UTC will provide for the purchase of Versalift OEM Parts and Services used to repair and maintain City bucket trucks and aerial lifts and Utility Truck & Equipment, Inc. is the sole source provider of these goods and services; and

 

WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the daily operation of the Department of Finance and Management, Division of Fleet Management, to authorize the Finance and Management Director to enter into a Universal Term Contract for the option to purchase Versalift OEM Parts and Services with Utility Truck & Equipment, Inc.; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

SECTION 1.  That the Director of the Department of Finance and Management is hereby authorized to enter into the following Universal Term Contract for the option to purchase Versalift OEM Parts and Services for a term of approximately two (2) years, expiring October 31, 2027, with the option to renew for one (1) additional year, as follows:

 

Utility Truck & Equipment, Inc., $1.00

 

SECTION 2. That the expenditure of $1.00 is hereby authorized from General Budget Reservation BRPO003264 of this ordinance to pay the cost thereof.

 

SECTION 3.  That this purchase is in accordance with relevant provisions of the Columbus City Code, "Sole Source Procurement."

 

SECTION 4.  That the funds necessary to carry out the purpose of this ordinance are hereby deemed appropriated, and the City Auditor shall establish such accounting codes as necessary.

 

SECTION 5.  That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
