Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to modify an existing Universal Term Contract (UTC) for the option to obtain Marking Paint, Chalk, and Tools with HD Supply Construction Supply LTD. This contract provides for pavement, athletic field, and construction marking paint with the tools required to apply paint citywide to protect citizens and employees with clear safety markings. This modification is necessary to extend the contract for one (1) year. The contract, PO129452 was established in accordance with Request for Quotation RFQ008738 and will expire April 30, 2020.
No additional funds are necessary to modify the option contract as requested. The original contract was formally bid. The original terms and conditions remain the same.
FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required to modify the option contract. City agencies must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office entered into a Universal Term Contract for Marking Paint, Chalk, and Tools for use citywide; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to modify the existing Universal Term Contract with HD Supply Construction Supply LTD to include a one (1) year extension; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Department of Finance and Management to authorize the Director to modify a contract with for the option to obtain Marking Paint, Chalk, and Tools with HD Supply Construction Supply, Ltd; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Finance and Management Director is hereby authorized to modify a Universal Contract for Marking Paint, Chalk, and Tools with HD Supply Construction Supply LTD.
SECTION 2. That this modification is in accordance with relevant provisions of Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
