WHEREAS, The Noble Dean J. Jackson was elected to the office as Illustrious Potentate for Alla Baba Temple #53 for the years of 2003 and 2004; and  
 
WHEREAS, Dean is a remarkable Renaissance man who has made some significant contributions to the Prince Hall Masons having served as: the Senior Steward for the St. Mark's Lodge, #7;  a member of L.D. Easton Consistory, #21;  a member of Johnson Chapter #3 - Royal Arch Masons;  a member of Alla Baba Temple #53 of the A.E.A.O.N.M.S. of North and South America and its Jurisdiction, Inc.;  a member of Esther Chapter #3, Order of Eastern Star; and
 
WHEREAS, Dean Jamyl Jackson is a native of Columbus, Ohio.  He is the last of three children of the late Noble Earl C. and Dt. Alma M. Jackson, PC.  He is married to Danielle A. Jackson and to their union was born Dean J. Jackson, II.  He has a Brother, Aaron C. Jackson (Lori A.) of Columbus, Ohio and a sister, Dt. Loling M. (Jackson) Sawyer, HPIC (David B.) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.  Other siblings include, the daughter and son of Noble Earl C. Jackson, Donna J. (Calvin) Griffith of Washington, D.C. and Ira E. Jackson of Columbus, Ohio; and
 
WHEREAS, Dean was educated in the Columbus Public School system graduating from Columbus West High School in 1981.  He furthered his education at the Ohio State University but was later accepted into the Columbus Police Academy in 1988 where he scored twelfth on the test.  Following in his Father's footsteps, Dean graduated from the Police Academy in 1989 and has served as a Columbus Police Officer ever since.  He is currently serving as a Detective in the Fraud and Forgery Unit; now, therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That this Council does hereby join with the Alla Baba Temple #53, A.E.A.O.N.M.S. of North and South America and its Jurisdiction, Inc. in honoring Dean Jamyl Jackson on this 19th day of June, 2004.
