Explanation
 
Background:  This ordinance authorizes the Franklin County Municipal Court Clerk (hereinafter "Municipal Court Clerk) to enter into a one year contact with CoreVault, Inc. for remote data back-up and recovery services.
 
These services will provide the Municipal Court Clerk's Office with data back up, quicker recovery from data loss, and a comprehensive disaster recovery system for viable data restoral. .
Bid Information:  The Municipal Court Clerk's Office solicited competitive bids through SA003709.    Proposals were received from four companies.  The proposals were reviewed by a committee of three.  In agreement with the committee, the Municipal Court Clerk awarded the bid to CoreVault, Inc. the overall lowest responsive, and responsible and best bidder.

Expiration Date:  10/6/2012
 
This company is  not debarred according to the excluded party listing system of the Federal Government or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State unresolved finding for recovery certified search.
 
Emergency:  This ordinance is being submitted as an emergency measure for the continuity of remote data back-up and recovery services for the Municipal Court Clerk's Office.    
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 
Fiscal Impact:  The cost of $93,627.84 is available within the Municipal Court Clerk computer fund.

Body
 
Whereas, it is necessary to enter into a one year contract with CoreVault, Inc  for remote data back up and recovery services for the Municipal Court Clerk's Office; and
 
Whereas, an emergency exists in the usual daily operations of the Municipal Court Clerk's Office in that it is immediately necessary to enter into a contract with CoreVault, Inc. for the continuity of remote data back-up and recovery services for the Municipal Court Clerk's Office, thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; now therefore,
 
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
Section 1.  The Municipal Court Clerk is hereby authorized to enter into contract with CoreVault, Inc. for the purchase of remote data back-up and recovery services for the Municipal Court Clerk's Office.
 
Section 2.  That the expenditure of $93,627.84 or so much thereof as may be needed is hereby authorized to be expended from the Municipal Court Clerk computer fund, fund 227, organization 2601, subfund 002, oca code 260208, object level  1 - 03, object level  3 - 3369 - $93,627.84.
 
Section 3.  That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take in effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
