.Explanation
BACKGROUND:
This ordinance authorizes the transfer of funds within the City Attorney's Office for the purpose of supporting the position of the Director of the Night Prosecutor Mediation Program. Historically these mediation services were provided through a contract with Capital University. The contract with Capital University ends this year. Rather than transfer additional funds to Capital and incur additional administrative fees, these funds will be used to pay the salary of the Director of the Program who is an employee of the City Attorney's Office. This ordinance will provide funds to support the salary of the program director and represents the first part of this process.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.

To authorize the City Auditor to transfer $75,000.00 within the City Attorney's Office general fund budget from Object Level One 03 to Object Level One 01 in order to fund the position of the Director of the Night Proseuctor Mediation Program and to declare an emergency. ($75,000.00)
Body
WHEREAS, there is an immediate need to transfer funds within the City Attorney's Office to support the services provided by the Director of the Night Prosecutor Mediation Program, and
WHEREAS, such transfer is needed to provide continuity in mediation services provided by the City Attorney's Office and funds specifically designated for the Night Prosecutor Medication Program are available for this purpose, and
WHEREAS, for such reason an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the City Attorney's Office, in that it is immediately necessary to transfer funds for the aforementioned purpose for the continuation of the program. Now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the City Auditor be and hereby is authorized and directed to transfer $75,000.00 within the City Attorney's Office, Dept/Div 24-01, fund 010, as follows:

SECTION 2. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
