Explanation
BACKGROUND:
Council passed Ordinance 0442-2008 on April 7, 2008 to provide funds to The Columbus Cultural Leadership Consortium, a 16-member group created in 2006 to bring organization and voice to the city's major cultural and artistic "anchor" institutions, with a focus on policy and strategy in both the short term and extended time frame. This legislation amends said Ordinance to delete Section 2 regarding certain administrative procedures related to appointments to the organization.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No additional funds are required for this legislation.
Title
To amend Ordinance 0442-2008, passed April 7, 2008, by repealing Section 2 in its entirety, and to declare an emergency.
Body
WHEREAS, Council passed Ordinance 0442-2008 on April 7, 2008 to provide funds to The Columbus Cultural Leadership Consortium, a 16-member group created in 2006 to bring organization and voice to the city's major cultural and artistic "anchor" institutions, with a focus on policy and strategy in both the short term and extended time frame; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate to amend said Ordinance to delete Section 2 regarding certain administrative procedures related to Council appointments to the organization; and
WHEREAS, all other aspects of Ordinance 0442-2008 are unaffected by this amendment and remain in effect; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the City, in that it is immediately necessary to amend Ordinance 0442-2008, which authorized a contract with the Columbus Cultural Leadership Consortium, for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; now, therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 0442-2008, as passed April 7, 2008, concerning the City's contract with the Columbus Cultural Leadership Consortium, be and is hereby amended to delete Section 2 in its entirety.
Section 2. That for reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor or ten (10) days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
