Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the amendment of Ordinance No. 1699-2023, passed by Columbus City Council on June 26, 2023, to change the object class from 03 to 05 in the general ledger string.
Ordinance No. 1699-2023, passed by Columbus City Council on June 26, 2023, authorized the Director of the Department of Development to enter into a beneficiary grant agreement with Columbus State Community College, through their Small Business Development Center, in an amount up to $250,000.00 of Federal American Rescue Plan (ARPA) funds to provide continued program management services for the Columbus-Franklin County Small Business COVID-19 Response and Recovery Program and to pay for expenses starting April 1, 2023.
Due to an error, object class 03 was used in the general ledger string included in Ordinance No. 1699-2023. As this is a beneficiary grant agreement, object class 05 should be used.
FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funding is necessary.
CONTRACT COMPLIANCE: the vendor number is 004263 and expires 05/30/2025.

Body
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Development entered into a beneficiary grant agreement with Columbus State Community College, through their Small Business Development Center, to provide continued program management services for the Columbus-Franklin County Small Business COVID-19 Response and Recovery Program; and
WHEREAS, the incorrect object class (03) was used in the general ledger string, and needs to be changed to object class 05; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Development requests that Ordinance No. 1699-2023 be amended to allow for a change to the general ledger string; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 1699-2023, passed by Columbus City Council on June 26, 2023, is hereby amended to change the general ledger string from object class 03 to object class 05.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
