To recognize and commend Judy Stattmiller on her retirement after more than fifty years of faithful service at St. Stephens and for her dedicated service to the greater community.
 
Body
 
WHEREAS, Judy Stattmiller began her service at St. Stephen's Community House in 1956 as a Program Youth Worker where she taught cooking and arts and crafts classes, coached sports, lead a Girl Scout Troop and recruited over a hundred volunteers a year to help with the programming at St. Stephen's Community House; and,
 
WHEREAS, Judy Stattmiller became a Social Group Worker in 1962 where she was responsible for setting up the first social work programs at the agency; and,
 
WHEREAS, Judy Stattmiller oversaw the relocation of the agency from the South Side of Columbus to the Linden Area and the fundraising drive to construct the new facility; and,
 
WHEREAS, from 1968 to 1988, Judy Stattmiller took on various duties at the center where she operated a night time teenage drop off center, established a multi-service center coordinating the services of 14 social service agencies in one location, and made the development of the Family Community Center possible through her proposal to the Ohio Department of Mental Health, which resulted in a $2.7 million grant; and,
 
WHEREAS, under Judy Stattmiller's leadership as Executive Director, St. Stephern's Community House has grown to 122 employees, a $3.5 million annual budget, added a 20,000 sq. foot addition to the Family Community Center, established the Christ Child Day Care Center to help low income mothers work and educate their children, and established the Food Pantry which has fed hundreds of thousands of families over the years; and,
 
WHEREAS, Judy Stattmiller has been recognized in the community by numerous agencies including the Linden Operation Pride, Christ Child Society of Columbus, the Columbus Soroptomist Club, and St. Vincent De Paul, now; therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:  
 
That it hereby recognizes and commends Judy Stattmiller for 50 plus years of spiritual and community work, and wishes her well in her retirement.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be presented to Judy Stattmiller
