Explanation
The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the Director of Public Utilities to enter into contract with General Maintenance and Engineering Company for the Jackson Pike Wastewater Treatment Plant Parts Storage Building Roof Replacement.
The Jackson Pike Wastewater Treatment Plants has a need for the roof to be replaced for its Parts Storage Building located on the grounds of the plant. Bids were solicited and opened on October 29, 2003. Six (6) bids were received. Three (3) bids were deemed non-responsive for failure to submit the bid in its entirety as specified in the proposal specifications. The following is the bid tabulation:

The Division of Sewerage and Drainage recommended an award be made to the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder General Maintenance and Engineering Company.

FISCAL IMPACT: $89,293.00 is budgeted and needed for this project. The amount requested includes contingency dollars also budgeted for this project.

To authorize the Director of Public Utilities to enter into contract with General Maintenance and Engineering Company for the Parts Storage Building Roof Replacement for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, to authorize the expenditure of $89,293.00 from the Sewerage System Operating Fund. WHEREAS, the Jackson Pike Wastewater Treatment Plant Parts Storage Building has a need for the roof to be replaced, and
WHEREAS, bids for the project were opened on October 29, 2003, six (6) bids were received, three (3) bids were deemed non-responsive for failure to submit the proposal in its entirety, and
WHEREAS, the Division of Sewerage and Drainage awarded the contract to General Maintenance and Engineering Company, the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder, now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS
Section 1. That the Director of Public Utilities be and is hereby authorized to enter into contract with General Maintenance and Engineering Company for Parts Storage Building Roof Replacement for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, Jackson Pike Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Section 2. That the expenditure of $89,293.00 or so much thereof as may be needed, be and the same hereby is authorized from the Sewerage System Operating Fund, Fund No. 650, OCA 604819, Object Level 1: 06, Object Level 03: 6624
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
