Explanation
Background:
Ordinance No. 3226-2024 authorized the expenditure of $253,900.00 from the General Fund - Fund 1000 to enter into a grant agreement with the Greater Linden Business Network (GLBN) in support of the Linden Economic Development Alliance (LEDA). The establishment of this organization is in alignment with the One Linden Plan through its mission support economic development and community investment in Linden for residents and business owners.
The ordinance is needed to modify PO495357 by extending the grant agreement with Greater Linden Business Network through December 31, 2025. This extension will allow Greater Linden Business Network to continue to support economic development and community investment in Linden for residents and business owners with LEDA.
Fiscal Impact: No additional funding is required to modify and extend this contract.
Emergency Justification: Emergency action is requested to avoid any delay in providing the resources necessary to support residents and business owners in Linden.

WHEREAS, it is necessary to extend the grant agreement PO495357 with Greater Linden Business Network through December 31, 2025 in order to support economic development and community investment in Linden for residents and business owners; and
WHEREAS, the current contract terminates September 30, 2025.
WHEREAS, an emergency exists such that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Director of the Department of Neighborhoods to extend the grant agreement with Greater Linden Business Network to avoid delay in providing the services and resources necessary to support residents and business owners in Linden as the current agreement terminates September 30, 2025, all for the immediate preservation of public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; and NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Director of the Department of Neighborhoods be, and hereby is, authorized to extend contract PO495357 with Greater Linden Business Network to December 31, 2025.
SECTION 2. That this modification is in accordance with relevant provisions of Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code.
SECTION 3. That for reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure and shall take effect and be enforced from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
