Explanation
 
This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to establish a purchase order for the Division of Power and Water, Watershed Management for one (1) Bobcat Skid-Steer Loader with Bobcat Company, 250 East Beaton Drive, P.O. Box 6000, West Fargo, ND 58078. The purchase of the loader will be in accordance with the current State of Ohio State Term Schedule Contract (STS), Contract Number STS515W 7751500107 which expires on June 30, 2010. The City of Columbus does not include this piece of equipment on any Universal Term Contract. The equipment is used to load material for watershed management projects.
 
The funding requested on this legislation is based on a quote dated September 27, 2006 and is the State of Ohio contract pricing.
 
FISCAL IMPACT: $21,345.00 is needed and budgeted for this purchase.

WHEREAS, the City of Columbus wishes to purchase one (1) Bobcat Skid-Steer Loader in accordance with the State of Ohio State Term Schedule Contract STS515W 7751500107 which expires on June 30, 2010, and
 
WHEREAS, the equipment is used to load material at Watershed Management for watershed management projects, and
 
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus does not include this type of equipment on any Universal Term Contract, and
 
WHEREAS, funding is based on quote dated September 27, 2006 from Bobcat Company and the quoted prices reflect State of Ohio contract pricing and is on file with the Purchasing Office, and
 
WHEREAS, in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Utilities, Division of Power and Water it is necessary to enter into a purchase order to purchase a loader, thereby preserving the public health, peace, property and safety; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
Section 1. That the Director of Finance and Management be and is hereby authorized and directed to establish a purchase order with Bobcat Company for the purchase of one (1) Bobcat Skid-Steer Loader for the Division of Power and Water, in accordance with State of Ohio State Term Schedule Contract STS515W 7751500107 which expires on June 30, 2010.
 
Section 2. That the funding for this legislation is based on quote dated September 27, 2006 from Bobcat Company and the quoted prices reflect State of Ohio contract pricing and is on file with the Purchasing Office.
 
Section 3. That the expenditure of $21,345.00 or so much thereof as may be needed, be and the same hereby is authorized from the Water System Operating Fund, Fund No. 600, OCA 602730, Object Level 1: 06, Object Level 03: 6651.
 
SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
