Background:

Proposals were received by the Recreation and Parks Department on March 15, 2012 for the Cremeans Park and Cooke Park Designs as follows:

Body

WHEREAS, funds are being moved to alternate projects within Fund 702 to establish correct funding project detail location for the Cremeans Park and Cooke Park Improvements Project; and

 

WHEREAS, the 2012 Capital Improvement Budget will be amended to reflect the fund transfers from projects within Fund 702; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to enter into contract with  POD Design, LLC for the Cremeans Park and Cooke Park Improvements Project; and

 

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to enter into said contract so that work may begin during the current construction season; NOW, THEREFORE

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

SECTION 1.   That the Director of Recreation and Parks be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into contract with POD Design, LLC for the Cremeans Park and Cooke Park Improvements Project.

 

SECTION 2. That the City Auditor is hereby authorized to transfer $42,900.00 within the voted Recreation and Parks Bond Fund No. 702 for the projects listed below:

SECTION 3. That the 2012 Capital Improvements Budget Ord. 0368-2012 is hereby amended as follows in order to provide sufficient budget authority for this legislation.

SECTION 4. That the expenditure of $42,900.00 or so much thereof as may be necessary to pay the cost thereof, be and is hereby authorized from the Voted Recreation & Parks Bond Fund 702, as follows:

SECTION 5.  That the City Auditor is authorized to make any accounting changes to revise the funding source for all contracts or contract modifications associated with this legislation.

 

SECTION 6.   That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or 10 days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
