Explanation
Background: This ordinance authorizes the Finance and Management Director to associate all general budget reservations resulting from this ordinance with and to establish purchase orders for the purchase of up-fitting for mobile maintenance and repair truck for use at the City of Columbus, Fleet Management Division gasoline and diesel fuel stations. The purchase order for the upfitting will be issued from Universal Term Contracts (UTC) that has been previously established by the City of Columbus Purchasing Office.
This ordinance also authorizes the Finance and Management Director to establish a purchase order with Ace Truck Body Inc. (PA007572) for the purchase of one (1) mobile maintenance and repairs up-fitting by the Fleet Management Division for subsequent use at the City of Columbus gasoline and diesel fuel stations.
Ace Truck Body Inc., CC# CC-004484, Vendor# 004484, PA007572 - Vehicle Upfits UTC - expires 12/31/2027 ($39,950.00)
This upfitted vehicle will be a replacement for older, high mileage, and high maintenance vehicles currently in service. This vehicle is fuel efficient and will relieve the city of maintenance expenses and general upkeep costs. Investing in this unit will reduce overall maintenance costs and petroleum fuel consumption.
This company is not debarred according to the Federal excluded parties listing or prohibited from being awarded a contract as per the Auditor of State unresolved findings for recovery certified search.
Fiscal Impact: This ordinance seeks authority to expend $39,950.00 from the Fleet Management Capital Fund from a previously established Universal Term Contract for the up-fitting parts/services on behalf of the Division of Fleet Management.
Emergency action is requested because Immediate authorization is necessary to allow the required upfitting of the Fleet service vehicle to proceed without the additional delay associated with the normal effective period of this ordinance. A delay could adversely affect the timely repair and maintenance to the City of Columbus gasoline and diesel fuel stations.
