To Recognize and Celebrate Angela Pace for her Dedication to Community Service and Nearly Four-Decade Legacy at WBNS-10TV News

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, Angela Pace has spent her entire life living in and serving the Central Ohio community, graduating from South High and Capital University before starting her distinguished career in news media; and

 

WHEREAS, Angela served in a wide variety of roles before coming to WBNS-10TV News, from a news director and reporter for radio in Newark to a floor director and anchor at WCMH-TV, Angela developed a unique skill set and deep network of community connections; and

WHEREAS, Angela quickly became an indispensable pillar of 10TV News and community landscape, serving as an anchor for 10TV Eyewitness news for 13 years before beginning her 19-year tenure as the Director of Community Affairs in 2006; and

WHEREAS, during her time as Director of Community Affairs, Angela has served as a crucial bridge between the media and non-profit and advocacy communities, helping share powerful stories and celebrating important community milestones; and

WHEREAS, this lifetime of service extended all facets of Angela’s life, serving on the board of various community organizations, including the Lincoln Theater Association, the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts, Capital University trustees, the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, the Greater Columbus Arts Council, Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation, and I Know I Can; and

WHEREAS, Angela’s unmatched dedication, authenticity, and vigor earned her a multitude of prestigious awards and honors for her work, including induction into the NATAS Ohio Valley Silver Circle, the 2025 Salvation Army Angel Tree Award, a Columbus Association of Black Journalists Lifetime Achievement Award, three Emmys, a regional Telly award, and the establishment of a foundation in her honor by the Columbus Bar Association to build the Center for Children and Family Advocacy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital; now, therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council hereby recognizes and celebrates Angela Pace for her dedication to community service and nearly four-decade legacy at WBNS-10TV News.
