Explanation
Council Variance Application: CV23-122
APPLICANT: The Law Office of Brian Garvine, LLC; c/o David Hodge, Atty.; 8000 Walton Parkway, Suite 260; New Albany, OH 43054.
PROPOSED USE: Office.
GERMAN VILLAGE COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Approval.
CITY DEPARTMENTS' RECOMMENDATION: Approval. The site consists of one parcel developed with an office converted from a single-unit dwelling in the R-2F, Residential District. The requested Council variance will conform the existing 2,344 square feet of office space at this location. A Council variance is required because the R-2F district does not allow commercial uses. The variance request includes a required parking reduction from six spaces to one provided space. Staff are supportive of this request as it legitimizes the existing office use, maintains the historic nature of the site, and is recommended for approval by the German Village Commission.
