Explanation
BACKGROUND: To change the company name and Federal Identification number for contract number FL001671 for the purchase of Personal Safety Products for the Purchasing Office. This ordinance authorizes the assignment of all past, present and future business done by the City of Columbus with Colonial Industrial Products, Inc. FID 341004599 to Colonial / Michigan Glove Company (C/MG) FID 381642871.
1. Amount of additional funds: No additional funds are necessary to modify the option contract.
2. Reason additional needs were not foreseen: The current supplier merged with another company.
3. Reason other procurement processes not used: The same exact product is required as originally bid. No lower pricing/more attractive terms and conditions are anticipated through rebidding at this time.
4. How cost was determined: Terms and conditions are in accordance with the original agreement.
FISCAL IMPACT: No additional is required to modify the option contract. Each agency must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.
In order to maintain an uninterrupted of services to City agencies using this Universal Term Contract, this ordinance is being submitted as an emergency.
Title
To authorize and direct the Finance Director to modify past, present and future purchase orders with Colonial/Michigan Glove Company (C/MG) and to declare an emergency.
Body
WHEREAS, the Finance/Purchasing Office established the contract with Colonial Industrial Products for the option to purchase Personal Safety Products; and
WHEREAS, Colonial Industrial Products merged with Michigan Glove Company, in addition to notifying the City of merger, Colonial/Michigan Glove Company (C/MG) has agreed to honor the past, present and future purchase orders established from contract number FL001671, and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Finance/Purchasing Office in that it is immediately necessary to modify contract number FL001671, thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Finance Director be and is hereby authorized and directed to modify contract FL001671 and to assign all past, present and future purchase orders pursuant to that contract to reflect the change of the company name and FID number from Colonial Industrial products, Inc. #341001499 to Colonial/Michigan Glove Company (C/MG) #38-1642871.
SECTION 2. That this modification is in accordance with Section 329.16 of the Columbus City Codes.
SECTION 3. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
