To honor and recognize Stephanie Groce for her personal and professional accomplishments and exceptional service to the City of Columbus on the Columbus Board of Education
Body
WHEREAS, Stephanie Groce is a lifelong resident of the City of Columbus, where she pursued her education, career and served her community; and
WHEREAS, Stephanie was a proud graduate of Columbus City Schools and The Ohio State University, where she achieved her bachelor’s degree in English Education and master’s degree in Quantitative Research, Evaluation and Measurement in Education; and
WHEREAS, as an appointee to the Columbus Board of Education in March 2006, Stephanie practiced the values- compassion, integrity, service and pragmatism- that earned her a four-year term in November 2007; and
WHEREAS, two years after the election, Stephanie was selected to serve as Vice President and from that leadership seat she has helped direct the district through another round of school closings and the pending opening of a quartet of theme-based facilities; and
WHEREAS, Stephanie is a committed PTA parent and a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels whose strong work ethic, devotion to children and the great pride she takes in serving her community is known to friends, colleagues and constituents; and
WHEREAS, as chair of the Audit and Accountability Committee, she demonstrated leadership in working to decrease the amount of State audit findings in the district; and
WHEREAS, throughout her six years of service, she has gained a reputation for reliability, for her mastery of complex issues and for her excellent job in promoting the needs of children; and
WHEREAS, Stephanie Groce has dedicated her career with the Columbus Board of Education to the service of others and to improving the community of which she is a part and the city in which she lives; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby honor and recognize Stephanie Groce for her personal and professional accomplishments and exceptional service to the City of Columbus on the Columbus Board of Education.
