Total                                                               $   600,000.00

Ordinance no. 0545-2026, approved by Columbus City Council on March 23, 2026 authorized the Director of Development to enter into a grant agreement in an amount up to $600,000.00 with Franklinton Rising for Affordable Housing for the 157 and 175 Chicago Ave rental development project.

The grant agreement for the project in an amount up to $600,000.00 was established under purchase order PO569320.  Within the agreement a budget was established with line item costs that the City of Columbus would reimburse to the project.  The developer has since had a need to request a budget modification to move funding from the “Soft Costs” to “Construction” costs.  All other aspects of the agreement and budget will remain.

EMERGENCY DESIGNATION:  Emergency action is needed to meet the projects timeline and to not delay the progress already made in construction.  Without emergency action, this new affordable housing project would be further delayed for a population that is in urgent need of it.

FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funding is required.

CONTRACT COMPLIANCE: The vendor number is 021767 and expires 05/01/2027.
