Background:
This ordinance will authorize the Director of Recreation and Parks to enter into a contract modification with MSI Design for professional services related to the Livingston Park Cultural Improvements Phase One Project for the amount of $25,300.00.
Additional contract amount is due to changes in design for the shelter, the water service plan, and design and construction of the interpretive panels.

Title
To authorize and direct the Director of Recreation and Parks to modify the contract with Myers-Schmalenberger Landscape Architects, dba MSI Design, for professional services related to the Livingston Park Cultural Improvements Phase One Project; to authorize the expenditure of $25,300.00 from the Recreation and Parks Grant Fund; and to declare an emergency. ($25,300.00)
Body
WHEREAS, this modification is necessary to accommodate changes in design for the shelter, the water service plan, and design and construction of the interpretive panels; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to modify the contract with Myers-Schmalenberger Landscape Architects, dba MSI Design, for additional design services related to the Livingston Park Improvements Phase One Project; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to enter into said contract in order to begin work immediately to maintain project schedule; NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Director of Recreation and Parks be and he is hereby authorized and directed to modify the contract with Myers-Schmalenberger Landscape Architects, dba MSI Design, for additional design services related to the Livingston Park Improvements Phase One Project.
SECTION 2. That the expenditure of $25,300.00 or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and is hereby authorized from Recreation and Parks Grant Fund 286 as follows:

SECTION 3. That the City Auditor is authorized to make any accounting changes to revise the funding source for all contracts or contract modifications associated with this legislation.
SECTION 4. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or 10 days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
