BACKGROUND:
Need: This legislation authorizes the sale of a 1993 rescue and a 1994 medic vehicle owned by the City of Columbus Fire Division, to the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office. This rescue and medic, tagged as Brass Tag 09877 and 17050 respectively, are of no further value to the City of Columbus Division of Fire.
While this apparatus has exceeded their useful life and is of no further use to the Division of Fire, the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office has expressed an interest in purchasing this apparatus for emergency response.

WHEREAS, the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office has expressed a desire and need to purchase a 1993 rescue and a 1994 medic vehicle, tagged as Brass Tag 09877 and 17050 respectively that is of no further value to the Division of Fire; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety and the Division of Fire has determined that it is in the best interest of the City of Columbus and the citizens of the central Ohio area to allow the purchase of this 1993 rescue and a 1994 medic vehicle, for the preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; Now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS
Section 1. That the Director of Finance and Management be and is hereby authorized and directed to sell a 1993 rescue and a 1994 medic vehicle to the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office that is of no further value to the Division of Fire for the sume of $2.00.
Section 2. That this Council finds it is in the best interest of the City of Columbus that the provisions of Section 329.30 of the Columbus City Codes, 1959, relating to the sale of City owned personal property be and they are hereby waived to permit the sale of this apparatus.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
