Explanation
The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the modification of the contract for Land Application and Disposal of Sewage Sludge for the Compost Facility with the Division of Sewerage and Drainage.
This contract provides for the disposal of sewage sludge on agricultural land for use by the Jackson Pike and Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plants. In accordance with Article 12, Section 700 of the agreement, modification to increase quantities, dollar amounts and contract duration may be extended upon mutual consent of the City and the Contractor. The division desires to increase the contract amount for the Jackson Pike Wastewater Treatment Plant by an additional $100,000.00 for additional removal of sewage sludge for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage
This modification will increase the new total contract obligation to $5,957,000.00.
The supplier is Burch Hydro Incorporated (31-0978934)
Fiscal Impact: Sufficient funding for this modification ($100,000.00) is budgeted.

To authorize the Public Utilities Director to modify an existing contract for the Land Application of Sewage Sludge with Burch Hydro Inc., for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, to authorize the expenditure of $100,000.00 from the Sewerage System Operating Fund,. ($100,000.00)
Body
WHEREAS, the existing contract with Burch Hydro Incorporated., authorized Land Application and Disposal of Sewage Sludge for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage; and,
WHEREAS, the Division of Sewerage and Drainage desires to modify the contract to increase the dollar amount of the contract an additional $100,000.00; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Public Utilities Director be and is hereby authorized to modify said contract with Burch Hydro Incorporated for Land Application and Disposal of Sewage Sludge, to increase the contract amount for use by the Compost Facility within the Division of Sewerage and Drainage.
SECTION 2. That the expenditure of $100,000.00, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and is hereby authorized from Sewerage System Operating Fund, as follows, OCA 605022, Object Level One 03, Object Level Three 3419 to pay the cost thereof.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
