2004 Bilingual DV Courtroom Advocate Grant MATCH
Explanation
Ordinance 2696-03 passed 12/17/03 authorized the City Attorney to accept from the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, Justice Programs Unit a grant in the amount of $44,479.00 for the Bilingual Domestic Violence Courtroom Advocate program. This ordinance will authorize the transfer and appropriation of matching funds required by the grant in the amount of $14,826.00.

Matching funds required from the City Attorney's general fund budget are $14,826.00.

Body
WHEREAS, Columbus City Council authorized acceptance of Grant No. 2003-DG-E-C103 Bilingual Domestic Violence Courtroom Advocate by ordinance 2696-03, passed December 17, 2003, and
WHEREAS, the acceptance of this grant requires that the City Attorney supply matching funds in the amount of $14,826.00; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the daily operation of the City Attorney's Office in that it is necessary to immediately transfer and appropriate the matching funds in order that the services supported may continue uninterrupted; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS, OHIO
Section 1. That the amount of $14,826.00 is hereby transferred from the General Fund of the City Attorney's Office as follows:

Section 2. That from the unappropriated monies in the General Government Grant Fund and from all monies estimated to come into said fund from any and all sources and unappropriated for any other purpose during the project award period the sum of $14,826.00 is appropriated as follows:

Section 3. That the funds appropriated in the foregoing Section 2 shall be paid upon order of the City Attorney and that no order shall be drawn or money paid except by voucher, the form of which shall be approved by the City Auditor.
Section 4. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
