Explanation
The Fire Division receives donations of funds from local citizens and corporations for it's Community Relations and Firefighters Against Drugs (FFAD) Programs, which are deposited into special revenue funds overseen by the Fire Chief. After receipt, these funds are deposited into the City's Special Revenue Fund (Fund 223, Sub Fund 302 and 303) and are used to reimburse costs incurred by the Fire Division for the aforementioned programs.
This ordinance authorizes the appropriation and expenditure of all funds deposited throughout the fiscal year necessary to carry out the purpose of the Community Relations and FFAD Programs, in an amount not to exceed cash received from said donations.
Fiscal Impact: Actual and anticipated receipts into the said funds are estimated to be sufficient to support this appropriation.
Emergency action is requested in order to provide for this appropriation action taking effect immediately to promote efficient accounting practices and ensure said educational programs continue operations uninterruptedly.
