Explanation

 

BACKGROUND :  This ordinance authorizes the Director of Public Safety to modify a contract with BAIR Analytics to reflect a name and Federal Tax Identification Number change.  The Division of Police needs to modify the current contract with BAIR Analytics, EL013915, which was authorized by solicitation number SA004277.  On April 2, 2015 BAIR Analytics was purchased by LexisNexis Risk Solutions FL Inc. This results in the need to modify the purchase order EL013915 and contract to reflect LexisNexis Risk Solutions FL Inc.as the vendor. The Federal Tax Identification number needs to be changed from BAIR Analytics 860942368 to LexisNexis LLC 411815880.

 

Emergency Designation:  Emergency legislation is requested in order to continue the access to the Crime Analysis Software and Support and Training Services System.

 

Title

Body

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to accept a name and Federal Tax Identification number change, and;

 

WHEREAS, LexisNexis Risk Solutions FL Inc. has informed the Division of Police of its intentions to fulfill the contractual obligations of BAIR Analytics; and

 

WHEREAS, the Division of Police has a need for continued maintenance agreement on the Crime Analysis Software and Support and Training Services System; and

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide annual renewal of extended maintenance and support services agreement necessary for the Crime Analysis Software and Support and Training Services System; and

 

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Division of Police, Department of Public Safety, in that it is immediately necessary to modify the contract with LexisNexis Risk Solutions FL Inc. to ensure uninterrupted service and maintenance in the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare; now, therefore

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS

 

SECTION 1.  That the Director of the Department of Public Safety is hereby authorized and directed to modify the present contract to reflect the change of company name and Federal Tax Identification Numbers from BAIR Analytics to LexisNexis Risk Solutions FL Inc.

 

SECTION 2.  To authorize the contract modification with LexisNexis Risk Solutions FL, Inc., to renew the extended maintenance and support services agreement for the Crime Analysis Software and Support and Training Services System.

 

SECTION 3.  That the City Auditor is authorized to make any accounting changes to revise the funding source for all contracts or contract modifications associated with this ordinance and to make any accounting changes necessary to ensure that this contract is properly accounted for and recorded accurately on the City's financial records.

 

SECTION 4.  That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
