Explanation
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) #2006-06 was executed by representatives of the City and Columbus Municipal Association of Government Employees (CMAGE)/CWA Local 4502. This MOU amends the Collective Bargining Contract by amending Appendix B, the classification of Electronic System Specialist. To accept Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) #2006-06 executed between representatives of the City of Columbus and Columbus Municipal Association of Government Employees (CMAGE)/CWA Local 4502, which amends the Collective Bargaining Contract, August 24, 2005 through August 23, 2008; and to declare an emergency.
Body
Whereas, representatives of the City and CMAGE/CWA Local 4502 entered into MOU #2006-06, a copy of which is attached hereto, to amend the Collective Bargaining Contract between the City and CMAGE/CWA Local 4502, August 24, 2005 through August 23, 2008, by amending the classification of Electronic System Specialist; and
Whereas, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the City in that it is immediately necessary to amend the Collective Bargaining Contract betweeen the City and CMAGE/CWA Local 4502, by accepting MOU #2006-06, thereby preserving the public peace, property, health, safety, and welfare; Now, Therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That MOU #2006-06 amends the Collective Bargaining Contract between the City and CMAGE/CWA Local 4502, August 24, 2005 through August 23, 2008.
Section 2. That City Council, in the best interest of the City, hereby recognizes and accepts MOU #2006-06, a copy of which is attached hereto, executed between representatives of the City and CMAGE/CWA Local 4502, to be effective the beginning of the first payperiod of 2007.
Section 3. For the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor or ten (10) days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
