Explanation
 
Background:  The Division of Police needs to purchase 85 chairs from King Business Interiors to replace broken and old office furniture .   These replacement chairs will be used in various office capacities by Police employees.
 
Bid Information:  An universal term contract was established by the Purchasing office with King Business Interiors, Inc. in accordance with the terms and conditions of contract number, FL003144 which expires 12/31/2009.
 
Contract Compliance No.:  31-1624533; expires 12/17/2009
 
FISCAL IMPACT: This ordinance authorizes the expenditure of $47,186.90 to purchase 85 chairs for the Division of Police from the Law Enforcement Drug Seizure Funds.   The Division of Police purchased $95,755 worth of office furniture earlier this year from King Business Interiors.

To authorize and direct the Finance and Management Director to enter into a contract with King Business Interiors, Inc. for the purchase of chairs for the Division of Police, to authorize the expenditure of $47,186.90 from the Law Enforcement Seizure Fund. ($47,186.90)
 
Body
 
WHEREAS, the Division of Police has a need to replace chairs, and
 
WHEREAS, a contract was awarded to King Business Interiors, Inc. for chairs in accordance with the terms and conditions of universal term contract FL003144, and
 
WHEREAS, the Division of Police has reached the $100,000 threshold on the universal term contract and needs to add funds; therefore,
 
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1.  That the Finance and Management Director be and is hereby authorized and directed to enter into contract with King Business Interiors, Inc. for the purchase of chairs for the Division of Police.
SECTION 2. That the expenditure of $47,186.90 or so much thereof as may be needed, be and the same is hereby authorized as follows:
