To Honor and Recognize Sister Beverly Jean Beavers as she assumes the position of 39th Grand Worthy Matron for the State of Ohio, Order of Eastern Star.

WHEREAS, Sister Beverly Jean Beavers was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Genève E. Hill; and
WHEREAS, Sister Beavers was provided with a diligent example of service to her community through her mother, who was also a dedicated member of Esther Chapter #3, Order of Eastern Star; and
WHEREAS, Beverly has been a member of the Order of Eastern Star for 28 years, serving as a past matron of Esther Chapter #3 in Columbus , Ohio , and a past matron of Matron of Mary Chapter #47; and
WHEREAS, Sister Beavers has shown her commitment to changing the lives of young people throughout the region by serving as Past Grand Director of Youth Activities for the State of Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Beverly Jean Beavers has an outstanding legacy of leadership, serving as Past Grand Deputy, District #1, Past Most Ancient Grand Matron of the Most Ancient Prince Hall Grand Court Heroines of Jericho, State of Ohio, as well as being a member of the Women's Board for the Summit County Juvenile Court, a member of Olivet Institutional Baptist Church, and a retiree from the State Developmental Services after 30 years; and
WHEREAS, her dedication to family is evident through her marriage to Leo C. Beavers, who is the Right Worshipful Grand Trustee for the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, her lifelong love of her 5 children, and by imparting wisdom upon her 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Grand Worthy Matron Beverly J. Beavers lives her life according to her favorite song, "If I Can Help Somebody Along the Way, Then My Living Will Not Be in Vain."; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That we do hereby honor and recognize Sister Beverly Jean Beavers as she assumes the position of 39th Grand Worthy Matron for the State of Ohio, Order of Eastern Star.
