Explanation
The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the purchase of Truck Bodies for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, Sewer Maintenance Operations Center. The truck bodies will be mounted to 2003 Ford cab and chassis which the City of Columbus will provide.
The Purchasing Office opened formal bids via bid number SA-000462GRW on July 3, 2003 for the purchase of three (3) Flatbed Truck Bodies, one (1) Utility Truck Body and one (1) Stake Truck Body . Four (4) proposals were received. A tabulation of the bids follows:

WHEREAS, formal bids were opened and received by the Purchasing Office on July 3, 2003 for the purchase of Truck Bodies, and,
WHEREAS, awards are being made to the lowest, responsive and responsible bidders, K.E. Rose Company, Ace Truck Body and America's Body Company, and,
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operations of the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, Department of Public Utilities, in that it is immediately necessary to process the order for said Truck Bodies, for the preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1: That the Finance Director be and is hereby authorized to establish purchase orders with K.E. Rose Company, Ace Truck Body and America's Body Company, for the purchase of Truck Bodies for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage.
Section 2. That the expenditure of $33,198.00 or so much thereof as may be needed, is hereby authorized and directed from the Sewerage System Operating Fund 650 as follows: OCA: 605089, Object Level 1: 06, Object Level 3: 6652, to pay for the cost thereof.
Section 3. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force form and after its passage and approval by the Mayor or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor disapproves the same.
